Frequently Asked Questions

What is vBase?

vBase is a verification platform that makes financial data credible.

For signal vendors, it turns your outputs into verifiable, timestamped records that investors can trust.

vBase enables signal vendors and clients to verify that signals are point-in-time, complete and honestly presented (i.e. not cherry-picked from 1,000 parallel versions).

What does vBase do for trading signals?

vBase stamps a unique fingerprint of every signal you generate, creating an immutable, independently verifiable history.

That history can be validated by hedge funds or prospects instantly, through a single click or API call.

For select vendors, we also build live performance dashboards that turn your signals into live, credible, shareable marketing materials.

And if you choose, we’ll go a step further by putting your signals directly in front of our hedge fund network.

How is this different from showing a backtest or performance chart?

Backtests and charts can be edited, cherry-picked, or curve-fit.

vBase provides undeniable proof your signals existed exactly when you said they did, eliminating doubt.

How does vBase prove my signals are authentic and timestamped?

A digital fingerprint of every signal you product is cryptographically stamped and stored with a verifiable audit trail using public blockchain infrastructure.

That history can’t be changed, and anyone you authorize can easily check it.

Can vBase see my signals? Are they visible publicly?

You stay in complete control. vBase never needs to see your signals to create a verified record. You can generate cryptographic fingerprints (hashes) locally and use vBase to stamp them.

We use SHA-3 hashing, which produces a unique fingerprint that proves authenticity while revealing nothing about your underlying data.

What formats and workflows are supported for submitting signals?

Signals can be submitted via API, S3, GitHub, web-based file upload, or a variety of other methods.

vBase stamping supports any file format.

Does vBase work with daily, intraday, or high-frequency signals?

vBase can handle any frequency down to about 10-second time fidelity.

If your strategy is true HFT where ticks matter, we don’t currently support this but it’s on our roadmap.

How does vBase help shorten the sales cycle with hedge funds?

Allocators don’t need months of individualized shadow trials, they see years of verifiable history immediately.

This eliminates back-and-forth and significantly accelerates decision-making.

Can vBase increase the pricing power of my signals?

Yes. Vendors with verifiable, auditable signals can charge more and close deals faster because funds can deploy with confidence instead of skepticism.

How can I use vBase verification in marketing and sales?

We help you market your signals with built-in credibility:

  • Tell allocators your strategy is vBase Verified, meaning it’s provably point-in-time, complete, and honestly presented.

  • Give allocators the ability to independently verify that claim in a single click or API call through the vBase Verify app.

  • Share a live, verified performance dashboard they can both validate and track over time.

  • And if you choose, we can also introduce your signals to our hedge fund network.

What is the cost of using vBase for my signals?

We charge per stamped file (signal).

Pricing Tiers:

  • Free: 100 stamps per month
  • $50/month: up to 400 stamps
  • $200/month: up to 2,000 stamps
  • Beyond 2,000 stamps: $10 per additional 1,000

Examples:

  • Daily rebalancing: 4-5 strategies fit in the free tier; $200/month covers ~100 strategies.
  • Hourly rebalancing: $200/month covers ~12 strategies.
  • 10-min rebalancing: $300/month covers ~12 strategies

If you need significantly more (or more frequent) signals, we’ll work with you on a custom plan.

We also offer a 2-month free trial so you can explore everything before committing.
